On To The Elections!
We The People is a democratic, non-corporate voluntary organization whose members are not likely to vote a party line. Individual We The People members have made commitments to advance democracy in the Heart of Maine. Here are some of the things We The People members have been doing this election season:
Deborah Gibbs is an independent candidate for Maine Senate Dist. 30 (Veazie to Mattawamkeag, including Orono, Old Town and Lincoln) - Go Deb!
Cheryl Spencer wrote a letter supporting Deb Gibbs, in the Weekend Bangor Daily News.
Paul Schroeder wrote a postcard to Gov. John Baldacci: Why won't he face the people?
Stan Levitsky passed out literature before the governor candidate debate.

In case you missed the story, and can't find it on the Internet ... It's great that the BDN and Channel 7 covered the student rally at the Bangor DEP the day public comments were due and 20 student letters asking "why" were submitted ... but apparently this wasn't newsworthy enough to put into the BDN's online edition.
